A Warning, a Greeting, and a Blessing
Passage: Romans 16:17–16:27
Church unity is fragile.
Paul’s entire theological framework is the unifying principle of the church.
It’s been said that the most important part of a book is the beginning. If that’s true then the second most important part is the conclusion.
Romans has been mostly about the church in Rome’s unity in diversity. The theological truths and doctrines expressed in its pages are the grounds for unity and oneness.
But the oneness Christians experience in the church is fragile. It doesn’t take much to upset it. It doesn’t take much for division in churches to happen. Unity isn’t our natural habitat—division, strife, and tribalism are.
